About
I am Olga Olivares (b. 1983, Mexico City), a designer and artist working across textiles, fashion, and craft through process-led, material-based practices. My work explores how making can operate as a form of thinking, with a focus on material experimentation, collaboration, and situated knowledge.
My recent research, Crafting Complexities: Metabolizing Knowledge Through Material Translations, developed within the Konstfack Research Lab – Craft at Konstfack, investigates craft as a metabolic process where knowledge is continuously transformed through material engagement and translation.
I hold an MFA in Design from Konstfack and a BA in Textile and Fashion Design from CENTRO (Mexico City), and I am currently based in Sweden working as a textiles and craft educator.
